Start the day by having breakfast at your hotel restaurant then be prepared to depart from Mexico City to Chiapas on a domestic flight. Upon arrival at Tuxtla Gutierrez you’ll be transferred to the Sumidero Canyon, where you'll enjoy a speed boat tour in the river, admiring the walls of natural formation, some higher than 1200 meters. Afterword, you'll be visiting the small village of Chapa de Corzo, where you will learn more about the local culture and traditions. In the afternoon we will continue on the road to San Cristobal de las Casas. Accommodation at the hotel and free time to walk in the historic center.

Day 3 – Native Communities of Zinancatán - San Juan Chamula

After breakfast, you'll be picked up at your home and transferred to the Native Community of Zinacatan, where the people still live according to ancient culture and traditions. Here you'll visit the house of a local family, and learn how they live day by day and prepare the meals, as well as typical handcrafts of Chiapas. Following, you'll be visiting the controversial San Sebastian temple in San Juan Chamula, learning the visible contrast between the Catholic religion and local beliefs. Afterword, we'll return to San Cristobal to enjoy a guided City Tour of the historical center and typical local market. Free time to visit the city center.

Day 4 – Lagos de Montebello - Cascadas El Chiflón

After breakfast, you'll be picked up at your hotel and depart for a great day dedicated to the visit to Cascadas El Chiflón (Waterfalls) and Montebello Lakes. This is a natural area, with more than 30 lagoons in the surroundings, which can be visited on short horseback or bicycle rides, as well as walking along sidewalks to discover the rain forest. The main lagoons in this place are Laguna Montebello, 5 Lagos, Pojoj, Lago Internacional, and Tziscao, which is the largest lake in the park. Cascada el Chiflon, is a chain of waterfalls that make up one of the most impressive natural spectacles in Chiapas, thanks to its height and its stepped fall, which reaches around 120 meters. These are part of the San Vicente River (one of the largest in Chiapas), and they are also known individually as El Suspiro, Ala de Ángel, Arcoíris, Quinceañera, and Velo de Novia, the latter the most impressive for its fall of 70 m Tall. Among them are natural pools of intense turquoise blue color, framed by vast vegetation that forms a tree curtain and landscapes that stand out for their reed beds and palm groves. Return to San Cristobal de las Casas and free time.

Day 5 – San Cristobal - Cascadas de Agua Azul - Palenque

Early morning you will depart to the spectacular Agua Azul falls, the most fascinating area in the mountains located between Palenque and Ocosingo. It consists of many cataracts following one after another in the Cascadas de Agua Azul Natural Park. The larger cataracts may be about 6 meters (20 ft.) high. At the end of the visit, we will move toward Palenque, a little town at the bottom of the mountains, famous for the homonym archaeological site. Accommodation at the hotel and free afternoon time to visit the town.

Day 6 – Bonampak – Yaxchilan - Palenque

Early morning you will depart to the south of Chiapas, where you’ll visit the Mayan ruins at Bonampak, a beautiful sight with a very unique and interesting feel, not fully excavated, so much still covered by rainforest. One of the most amazing finds at Bonampak is the three rooms of murals, depicting important ceremonial and political events, which are some of the best-preserved examples of the Maya painted art. Afterword you’ll visit the Yaxchilán archaeological site, which can be reached only by an hour-long incredible boat ride down the mighty Usumacinta river (exactly between the shores of Guatemala and Mexico) through the rainforest wild inhabitants, like monkeys, toucans, and eagles, so as crocodiles. At the end of the visit we will get back to the hotel in Palenque.

Day 7 – Archaeological Site of Palenque

After breakfast, we’ll visit the archeological site of Palenque, where you’ll be confronted by the largest Mesoamerican step pyramid, the Temple of Inscriptions, spotted with hieroglyphics that have contributed significantly to the study of Mayan civilization. At the end of the visit, you will be transferred to Villahermosa Airport or the Bus station of Palenque.
