Day 1 – Cancun – Playa del Carmen
Once you arrive at Cancun International Airport you will be transferred to the hotel in Playa del Carmen. After your check-in you can enjoy of free time at the city center.
Day 2 – Playa del Carmen - Tulum – Coba - Valladolid
After having breakfast at the hotel, our guide will pick you up to start the first day tour, enjoying the visits at Tulum and Coba archeological sites. The first one is located on the Mayan Riviera coast, just in front of the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea. The second one is located in the heart of Mayan Jungle and has the highest pyramid of the entire Yucatan Peninsula: “Nohoch Mul”. During the day trip, there will be a stop to one of the several Cenotes existing on the route, to visit and swim in the clear waters. At the end of the tour you will be transferred to the colonial town of Valladolid, where you will spend the rest of the day and the night in one of the historical center hotels.
Day 3 – Valladolid - Las Coloradas - Rio Lagartos - Mérida
After having breakfast at the hotel, you’ll visit Las Coloradas, also known as “the pink sea of Yucatan”. The color of the water is due to the high concentration of salt that has the bottom, which makes it a real show. Afterword we will move to the fisherman village of Rio Lagartos, where we will take a boat tour of the lagoon, visiting the most interesting sites, among which the Sanctuary of the Rose Flamingos. Later we will continue our trip to Merida, capital town of the Yucatan State, where you can enjoy a walk downtown and delight with the traditional Mexican cuisine in one of the several typical restaurants.
Day 4 – Merida – Uxmal - Merida
Early in the morning you will be transferred to the archeological site of Uxmal, the most important of “Ruta Puuc”, to discover its most famous temple “La Casa del Adivino” and learn about another Mayan era, their culture and traditions and the way they used to live. At the end of the visit we will be returning to the hotel, to enjoy a guided city tour, including visits to the historical center and the popular Plaza Mayor y Casa de Montejo.
Day 5 – Merida - Chichen Itza - Ek Balam – Riviera Maya
After having breakfast at the hotel, prepare yourself to visit the most important Mayan ruins of the Yucatan Peninsula: Chichen Itza, known also as “One of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World”. Absolutely the most visited archaeological site in Mexico, due to its extraordinary architecture beauty and its geographical location, Chichen Itza was the greatest Mayan centers of the Yucatán peninsula. The fusion of mayan construction techniques with new elements from central Mexico cultures, make it one of the most important examples of the Mayan – Toltec civilization. Several buildings have survived, such as the Warriors’ Temple “El Castillo” and the circular observatory known as “El Caracol”. Afterwards we will move to one of the least explored archaeological sites: Ek Balam, dedicated to the Mayan God that protected the city, represented by the Black Jaguar. At the end of the visit, we will move to Riviera Maya for accommodations at the hotel of your choice.
